Yokosuka Temporary Housing
Temporary Lodging Facility

While single members may report almost immediately to their parent commands or get temporary billeting in the BEQ/BOQ, families will most likely spend some time at the Yokosuka Navy Lodge or, if the Lodge is full, at a hotel in town. Keep in mind the Navy Lodge nor the BOQ/BEQ do NOT allow pets, you or your Sponsor can contact the NEX Kennel for a reservation for pet boarding and specific prices. Reservations are accepted only in person or via phone, to contact please call DSN 315-243-4530 or internationally 011-81-46-816-4530. A copy of your orders is needed for check-in but if you are bringing family members be sure to have the approved Family Entry Approval and passports prior to leaving for Japan, you will need all these documents to start all your allowances during the check-in process.

Central Billeting Office

The Central Billeting Office is located in the BEQ building #3333 across the street from the Personnel Support Department (PSD) building #1555.  All buses from the airports stop just outside the lobby door of the PSD building.  The Central Billeting Office is open 24 hours and handles all BEQ reservations and assignments.  All major credit cards are accepted.  The BEQ can be contacted DSN 315-243-5569 or internationally 011-81-46-816-5569 or the Department of Defense Lodging homepage.

Bachelors Officer Quarters

The BOQ is located just inside the main gate of Yokosuka Navy base, or about 300 meters from the airport bus stop at PSD.  The BOQ is open 24 hours and accepts all major credit cards.  The BOQ can be contacted DSN 315-243-5685 or internationally 011-81-46-816-5685 or the Department of Defense Lodging homepage.

Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA)

Guests are responsible for paying their Lodge bill after each 10 day period of stay. Your Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) will be paid by the Disbursing Office after the Navy Lodge endorses your receipt. Important: Your TLA will not start until you have checked into your command, or into the Transient Personnel Unit if your afloat command is out of port. You can not draw TLA while you are in a travel status. You can only draw TLA while in a leave status after you have checked into you gaining command (or TPU) and after your gaining command authorizes subsequent leave. If Welcome Center personnel state that Military Family Housing may be available within 60 days you may remain at the Navy Lodge and TLA will be paid in 10 day increments until you move in.  Declination of Military Family Housing may result in TLA being stopped.  If the Welcome Center indicates Military Family Housing will not be available within 60 days you must actively pursue off base housing (a minimum of 5 houses per week) to be eligible for TLA.

Yokosuka Navy Lodge

You or your Sponsor can make reservations for the Yokosuka Navy Lodge upon receipt of your PCS orders to Japan. The Yokosuka Navy Lodge is conveniently located next door to the CNFJ Housing Welcome Center in building 4807 about 2.2 kilometers from the maingate.  Keep them up-to-date in the event of orders modifications (ORDMOD) or other travel changes. Maintain communication with your sponsor regarding this matter. Be sure to tell your sponsor the number and ages of your children so that he/she can notify the Lodge when making your reservation.  The "1-800" number for Navy Lodge/Navy Inn reservations will not be able to accept your reservation request for their overseas facilities. Their toll-free numbers are for reservations at US facilities only. The Navy Lodge can be contacted DSN 315-243-6708 or internationally 011-81-46-816-6708.  Pets are not allowed in Yokosuka's Navy Lodge, please see the Household Goods-Shipping Pets section for kennel information.

Rates

$53.00 (w/o kitchenette)/ $60.00 (w/kitchenette)

Each room has internet access, TV, DVD player, alarm clock, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, coffee pot, microwave, and hairdryers, if you would like a room with a stove please request it when making your reservation. All rooms have access to ice machines, cribs and roll-away beds, indoor/outdoor playground, picnic/barbecue grounds along with a small computer lab. A station shuttle bus stop is located nearby and bus schedule can be picked up at the Navy Lodge front desk.

TLA Approved Off Base Hotels

Several TLA approved hotels, within walking distance or a short taxi ride from the main gate of the base, provide temporary lodging when on base facilities are full. You must obtain a receipt from the hotel for proper TLA reimbursement. If you do not have hotel reservations, the Navy Lodge, CNFJ Housing Welcome Center, and the Fleet & Family Support Center can provide you or your Sponsor with a listing of hotels, both Western style and Japanese style, in the Yokosuka community.
