JAMSTEC - Japan Agency for Marine-earth Science and TECnology will held a open house event at their facility at Yokosuka.

JAMSTEC is one of the world leading marine science organization.

You can see "Shinkai 6500" which is the submersible (small submarine) that can dive to 6,500meters depth. (The deepest depth range of manned research vehicle in the world.)

If you are lucky enough, you can ride a short tour of science research ship "Kaiyou". (You should subscribe to the lot by 12:00 at the site. Cruise will start at 2:00pm)

There are many other open lab event at the site. Many of them are very educational.

There are free shuttle bus service from Keikyu Oppama station.
