Hello Everyone!

My husband and I, and our five daughters are looking to move to Ikego soon from Florida. We were wondering if anyone could give us some basic measurements of the the bedrooms, family room and living/dining room in the four bedroom town house? Thanks so much!

I am not sure of the measurements; however, I have a large, heavy bedroom set that has three large dressers and nightstands. It is a queen size bed though. My eldest has one of the smaller rooms and he has a double bed, large dresser, night stand, and bookshelf. My middle has the other small room (the difference between the two was closet size) and has a twin bed, large dresser, bookshelf, and night stand. The youngest has the largest secondary bedroom and she has all the same stuff, a drum set and a large(ish) play area rug on her floor. In my living room, I have our couch, love seat, chair, ottoman, a rocking chair, two bookshelves, my husband's computer desk, and a VERY large television. What they call the family room houses our dining room table, six chairs and two book shelves. I just realized we have A LOT of books .

I think I read somewhere that sq footage is a little over 1500. I am glad that we put our elliptical and treadmill in storage. There is not a ton of room left over (in fact note), but keeping it in perspective...it is free. That being said, I am having the most difficult time figuring out how you will fit five kids in here and not go nuts. Sometimes I feel like we are on top of eachother and we only have three kids.

is a link that provides some information about what to expect as far as floor-plans in Ikego. Getting settled in Ikego (if that's what you choose) shouldn't be difficult once you arrive here. While I don't work at the housing office, I do stay in close contact with them if you have any more questions. I comb this forum every so often, but the best way to get in touch with us here in the Ikego OIC office is either our facebook or e-mail. Whatever way you choose, I hope your transition out to Japan is smooth!!!

Let me just say that our housing (IKEGO) detachment is so wonderful. They are friendly, helpful, and so very awesome. I also like the post office here and our self help guys. I have to say it is a much warmer feeling here, in my opinion, than at all those places at main base.
