Does anyone have the actual contact numbers for the contractors on base in Yokosuka?  I have to find a job there I can be with my family. I don't have much time left they leave in May. If anyone knows any thing Please contact me. I have been on some websites and applied for jobs but from talking to people some jobs are not posted.

What type of position are you looking for? The company I work for CSC has some openings here in Yokosuka. Go to the csc careers site to apply. To see what's available, go to http://www.csc.com/careersus/flx/16...ortunities and change the location to Japan and select Yokosuka. There are a couple of pages of available positions.

You're going to have to be more specific. There are contractors here that do all kinds of things.

Can anyone help me get a job on Yokosuka base? Had a job off base with a company but went out of business 8 months ago and was laid off. Applied for a job as an MHA worker at HRO in Yokosuka but due to all the favoritism, its impossible to get in. The job required being fully bi-lingual in English/Japanese. The person who was hired was a full blooded Japanese who couldn't even speak English and was old in his 50's. HRO didn't even give my application the time of day. It was sent back after 5 days with a note stating better luck next time. This might be the wrong place to post but I need help.

    Hello,

I am new to the forum. I lived in Yokosuka from 2001-2004. I am currently in Kuwait as a contractor and would like to come back to Japan with my family but finding contract jobs there seems quite difficult. Any information on what companies are there would be much appreciated. I did Avation Ordnance in the Navy. I have experience in Quality Assurance, ISO 9001 & Lean Six Sigma and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

Finding a contracting job require diligence and research. Many of the best jobs are never advertised. If your looking for a DOD Contracting position, you should start with looking at the list of 100 Top contracting companies and perform searches on their website. Take a look at http://washingtontechnology.com They are an online authority on Government Contractors. Start with the first 50 companies and perform a search on the job openings. Some jobs are not adverstised, so its a good idea to get your profile in their system.

Establish a Linkedin Account and begin networking with people. CSC is a primary contractor for OneNet. HP is the primary contractor for the NMCI contract. There are both Large and small contracts. You really need to do a lot of research. Honeywell, CSC, C4 Planning, Harris, CACI, SAIC are just a few. One of the Biggest contracts is the NMCI Contract. Its scheduled to be upgraded into the NGEN contract. Its going to be a 10 Billion dollar contract with many subcontractors involved. Finding a job involves more than just a job, its about doing your homework and researching.
