Is there a Sony repair store that fixes PS3's in Yokosuka or Yokohama? I don't want to have to send it to the states to get fixed if I don't have to. 

When my husbands ps3 was broken we weren't able to find any place that repairs it. The nex just gave that paper which is an adddress in the us to send the ps3 but you can also try email them if they can refer you to a authorized Sony repair shop here. I know this is not a very helpful answer. We ended up buying a new ps3. He had to give up his ps3.

What's wrong with it? Mine stopped working recently, did a search on the internet and found out the hard drive is nomally the reason they break. Fixed it myself with a old 30G hard drive I had using instructions off the internet. Was very easy to do, only tool I needed was a small phillips head screw driver. Ordered a new 2.5 inch SATA drive to replace the old 30G, but for now it's working great with the 30G hard drive.

Sony is useless when it comes to fixing your PS3. Their is no stores here and they also will not ship the PS3 back to a FPO AP address. Our PS3 stopped reading games and movies. When I googled what was wrong with it I found another place that fixes PS3's they are in the states but it was a lot cheaper than even what Sony was quoting and they do ship to FPO address's. However, our PS3 just started reading discs again one day before we got around to shipping it to be fixed so we never actually tried that place.

When we were there 10 years ago, if memory serves me correct, in the Mikasa shopping there was an electronics store there that fixed and moded such items.

I wish it was the hard drive. The disc reader is not working. Can't complain to much I bought it when they first came out and it just now stopped working. I am worried that if I send it in they will replace it with a newer one. It is the 60gig that is backwards compatible.

I understand you completely. My husband used to have the older model which is the glossy one and said it can read even his ps2 n ps1 games. But he can't find or don't wanna wait that long to send it to the states. Maybe you should check out that store in front of mcdonalds in the blue street. Maybe they do repair. If not yo might really have to send it back home
