I want to sell my E plate car at auction.
I sold one 4 years ago, a friend of mine who is no longer here set me up with a gentleman. I don't know if he goes by the name of Mr Auto on this forum.

Mr Auto can you help me?

Is there anyone else who could do this? Or know of a high end automotive used car dealer who might be interested?

    Thanks

InJapan, yes you can sell your vehicle at the auction with Mr. Auto, but he may likely tell you to post it to the BUY AND SELL section of JB first. Its always best to see if you can see it locally, before you take it to the Japanese economy. It just depends on the vehicle.

We all know base members or most base members like to shop cheap. So if you have a vehicle that is $6000 or more, the base members probably wouldnt be interested.

I think one of the advantages now, is that when and if someone does purchase your vehicle at the auction, your paid in YEN, vice in $ dollars.

So when you actually convert the amount you receive in Yen back, to $, you may make out better in the end.

Just remember, when you sell your vehicle with him, you could put a minimum you would like to receive before its actually sold. It could take a few weeks to actually get the price your seeking. Just depends on the vehicle.

Each week that it does go into the auction you have to pay a fee for it to try and sell.

Mr. Auto will explain all the details.

Is it that 911 Carrera S with E plates running around? I have a friend with a Ferrari so there is a market but it's small.

Yokota is close... I am selling a very high end model. The Gaijin market for expensive cars is almost non existent. And I know that I will get a better price from the Japanese. I think it was 10000 yen to post it for auction when I sold my last car.

My guess is you would have no trouble selling it at the auctions where you have many buyers looking for vehicles in that range, the only downside is everyone at the auctions want's to get vehicles below value. I was poking around that goo-net website just to see how much they charge but I couldn't easily figure it out. That could produce more money for you though because I'm assuming it's closer to retail prices.

So is GOO net only for dealers?
Prices look good, it doesn't have my model but there is very little drop off from list price at one year.
I will try the dealer and Goo net but I don't mind selling it cheaper.
My M3 convertible got bought by a dealer at auction and was put on their lot with a large markup.

As I understand it anyone can place an ad with them. I have a friend in the process of placing a new Harley on the motorcycle portion.

After researching the website some more, I think maybe you are correct:

On Goo-net Exchange, there are over 300,000 cars in our stock. Only trustworthy used Japanese retail car dealers in Japan are registered with Goo-net Exchange. We also have the tools and features to help you find the right car so you can find what you are looking for in no time.
