My husbands PTS went through and got approved. This is going to be our first re-enlistment. We're attached to CFA Yokosuka and I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas as to where we can re-enlist? And what uniform can he wear other than the digitals? He wears those everyday and quite frankly they're a little boring for a re-enlistment picture. Mostly because I see him in those everyday.   Thanks!!

He can wear his peanut butters or his dress as well. It really is up to him. Now as far as the ceremony itself, I'm not sure if we are able to do off base, back in the states we were able to and my husband did it at the Sqaw Valley Ski Resort so the whole shop got the day to go up there and we all went hiking. But it would be nice to do it over at Monkey Island.

The last time my husband reenlisted, he didnt even wear his uniform- but then again, he is a submariner, and that community is a bit more laid back. He is fixing to reenlist here again next month- he was thinking about doing it on a Japanese boat, or at the Mariner's vs Oakland baseball game being played in Tokyo in March.

Here are some ideas near Yokosuka to perform re-enlistment ceremony:

    1) Kamakura big buddha

    2) Restaurant / Bar of his choice

    3) Mt. Fuji -- Seen it happen, but takes some motivation

    4) On a Japanese ship outside womble gate

    5) At the Beach

    6) Work with one of the US ships to re-enlist onboard

Can he do all this even if he is on shore duty? His command is a little tight, or so he thinks. They haven't worked with him on much so he believes it's not even worth trying. I'll definitely push the subject matter if he has the right to!!

Yes you can definitely accomplish any of them if you truly desire and put the effort.

Best recommendation: Have your husband discuss with his career counselor.

The Career Counselors should be able to arrange all sorts of different scenarios, and have access to any of the ships CCC departments.

It should only require a phone call, and work some magic if your trying to re-enlist onboard one of the us ships.

If the CCC department cannot assist, your husband can always go and sit down with his CMC and ask him for some help. They can easily send an email to another CMC to work some back door magic..

    GL..

Its really whatever your husband is interested in, he should pursue..
