Husband got his orders today. I am wondering will we be able to accompany him with free tickets or will it be from our pocket to go with him. We are not command sponsored because he don't have much time left here and we just got married December.

Read the orders, it will state the disposition of dependent travel and whats authorized concerning them. If you end up having to to pay...... have him take a AMC flight with you, in a PCS status it's almost at the top of the list right up there with emergency leave, all time en-route is travel time not leave time. You could squeeze a mini vacation in somewhere as well.

What do the orders say about dependents?

It says nothing about our name but says something that if we're on his page two which we are can qualify or something. I can't really understand. He said we will be able to go with him for free but I am not sure and sometimes guys take everything so easy and my problem is I worry too much. I can't find anything that says he's unaccompanied or whatsoever.

You know, I don't mean to be judgmental or anything... but why is your husband leaving it to you to figure out the taxes, his orders, etc? He's American, and he's active duty... this stuff should be a LOT easier for him to figure out. I understand marriage is a partnership, but each partner has his or her own strengths. Your comment is hilarious... "sometimes guys take everything so easy." Yeah, that's me too! Guys just figure things will work out, but usually that's cuz the wife steps up & takes care of it. When we travel around Asia, my wife does all the trip planning (she speaks several Asian languages). If we travel in the U.S. or western countries, I plan everything. Each of us has our particular strengths.

It's okay thaiguy. I understand. He has that tendency. Lol. He hates paperworks so now that we're married makes me do it but the truth is I can't really do it especially if I don't know how to. Lol. And that's why jb is such a great help coz I get to ask questions and answers as well. He said we will get free tickets ad go with him but I didn't see our name in his orders. I told him to ask about it today do we will know early.

The navy does not list dependent's names on orders. That is one reason we have to get an FEA ( family entry approval letter ) to travel on his orders.

I assume when you say he got orders they are for departing Japan. Where are you going?

Thai Guy, I wish muy husband didnt leave everything to me either!!!!!!!!! If it wasnt for my persistance, we would have never got all the money the Navy owed us!!!! So with that being said, you're quite a catch (that has been caught lol)

Well, I'm assuming that you are Japanse? Well, I think as long as you are on his Page 2, you should be covered. I just dont know how it works when you are going to the States.... Talk to PSD- admin department. They are really good about helping people.

Or an even easier solution..............

Take your power of attorney, dependent ID card and a copy of the orders to the travel office and have them make your reservations and issue your tickets.

Hes going to California next. And were on his page two. Well we talked and he said I am on his page two so we should be good and even if we didn't get a ticket hes the one paying for it anyway so I should stop worrying. He wont leave till July though.
