We have a fish grill in our house, but I don't know how to use it!  I would love some tips on how to use it and what works for you.

The grill has a tray and rack.  I have read that you put water in the tray-is that right?

What type of fish do you usually grill, how do you prepare it, about how long do you cook it, do you flip/turn it?  I would love to learn how to make use of this grill and enjoy the good looking fish I see in the store.

    Thank you!

Yes, put a bit of water in the tray. After cooking, you can slide the drawer out, dump the water, and clean the tray. Leave it dry until you grill again.

You light the grill just like the burner on your stove. I have to stoop down and observe the flame to make sure it's really lit. I've also found that turning the burner fully on is not quite the hottest setting. I turn it down just a bit to maximize the flame. Again, I have to get down low to observe the flame.

You will flip whatever you're cooking to cook on both sides. Generally, cooking the 2nd side is faster than the first side. BTW, it doesn't have to be just fish. Other things I've cooked in the fish grill:

    - Marinated steak
    - Korean-style ribs
    - Chicken parmesan
    - Toasted cheese sandwiches.

Anyone have more ideas of what to cook in a fish grill?

...I should have asked this same question a year ago.

I'm sure my apartment has some documentation on the grill explaining how to use it, what to cook in it, how to clean it, but since I can only read English and some French, Italian, and German it's useless to me.

Don't use it to heat up taco shells. They sit too high and catch on fire. FYI.

I use it to heat garlic bread. I would like to try actually cooking fish in it, but I'm REALLY scared of drying out the fish.

lol, yes you can use the fish grill to cook fish. Think of it as a charcoal grill, and don't cook too long on each side. It comes out great if you don't overcook. :-)

Just invented another great recipe for the fish grill.  Using leftovers from last night's Boboli pizza-fest, I toasted the end piece of whole grain bread, slathered pizza sauce on top, put a couple of thick tomato slices and fresh baby spinach, then topped the whole thing with mozzarella.  Pop it into the fish grill until the cheese is melted & browned, and this was my breakfast.  Feel free to use any toppings on hand, this was delicious!

Turn down the fish grill temp, or the cheese will burn.  I had it at about 1/2 of max.
