    Community PAWS Needs Some Help:

I recently went by the commisary and saw several volunteers sitting out front.  I approached them and asked what they were doing?  They said they were asking for people to donate things on their "THINGS WE NEED" list.
I actually went in and purchased atleast 1 of each item on the list that I could find.
I felt it was bad if I asked you as the site members to stop by and donate, if I hadn't so I come clean...  I did it!  :)

If you have some spare change laying around, please stop by or contact the Yokosuka PAWS office.

These are a list of things they need:

As a NonProfit Organization, PAWS Animal Shelter is always in need of donations. If you would like to contribute to the shelter, these are the things we need the most. We only feed Iams animal food. We will also feed Science Diet and Eukanuba. Dry food only please.

PAWS holds supply drives outside of the Commissary, Ikego Mini Mart, and Negishi Commissary/NEX on a monthly basis. If you are unable to bring items to the shelter please watch out for us at one of those locations!

    PAWS appreciates all donations!!!

We are not currently in need of any cat or dog treats thanks to a generous donation by the Yokosuka Commissary.

    • Iams Adult Dog Food
    • Iams Minichunks Dog Food
    • Iams Puppy Food
    • Iams Adult Cat Food
    • Iams Weight Control Cat Food
    • Iams Kitten Food
    • Paper Towels
    • Laundry Detergent
    • Dryer Sheets
    • Bleach
    • Towels, Blankets, Hand Towels(used are great!)
    • Hand Soap
    • Cat and Dog Toys
    • Heating Pads (nonautomatic)
    • Rice
    • Tube Socks (for heating socks)
    • Mineral Oil
    • Baby Blankets
    • Arm and Hammer Litter Box Deoderizer
    • Hard sided Pet Kennels

Aside from material things, PAWS often needs helping hands as well. Occasionally we run across animals that need loving foster homes. If you feel your family would be a good candidate to help out a dog or cat in need of a place to live contact us below:

    Tricia,

    https://www.cnic.navy.mil/Yokosuka/CommunitySupport/FFSC/Relocation/MapsandDirections/index.htm

On the link above, there are some directions to and from a few locations, but it is not a complete resource.

You should be able to get yourself to hwy 16, from making a left out of sagamihara/zama base, and following it straight on the road, and eventually I believe it merges to the right onto 16.. From there, you can follow directions either with Atsugi or from Yokota to Yokosuka.

I am still working on a directions section that will allow you to get directions to and from each base and to every major sightseeing location. It will also be interactive to allow all community members to update and provide updates to the directions to offer the most up to date resources on the net.. I have a few more areas to finish, and I will start the directions section.

Please let me know if you need anything else. Not sure why you posted this into the PAWS information post, but its fine. If you have any additional questions with directions, please just start a new post..

Yes I tried helping them one day by purchasing about $75.00 worth of stuff. I saw them sitting out front, and felt bad to tell people to donate if I didnt donate myself.. If you can donate, I know they would appreciate the help.. The list above is a good starting point..

    You can also look here:
    http://pawsyokosukajapan.com/blog/t...s-we-need/

This is a list from their website.

Let us know how things go..

    Tricia,

Okay, sorry.. At first it just confused me why directions requests were posted here, but I do understand now. So do you feel comfortable with driving to Yokosuka? I know for a fact that Zama has directions to Yokosuka, so you may want to check with them.. I have been gathering so many resources for directions, and plan to visit all the bases, and get all the directions I can. Then I will compile a centralized database for you to navigate and travel to and from each location, without having to search ALL over the web to find things. I myself use to hate it! So I do understand how difficult it is to find information and resources on the web.. Please let me know if you need any additional help. If I have to, I can make a few calls, and get what you need..

PAWS is on the same road the Navy Lodge, Autoport is. But instead of turning towards them, turn left and head towards the Brig... PAWS is on the left side.
