Hi. My husband is on the USS Curtis Wilbur. We have been here in Yokosuka since early summer of this year.

My name is Bob Mills. I am the Deputy Command Chaplain for DESRON 15, which basically provides many of the support services to the seven destroyers we have here in Yokosuka, including Curtis Wilbur. The Wilbur does deploy quite a lot, but so do the other ships in the DESRON. Unlike deployments from bases in the states which typically last for at least six or seven months - often longer, most of our deployments here are shorter - on the order of three to four months, with occasional exceptions. Many of our underways (as we call them) are shorter than that.

That being said, it is difficult to lose your spouse out to sea for weeks or months at a time. If you are looking for any type of counseling, deployment support, or just need somebody to talk to, please feel free to reach out to the spouses here as you are doing, and also feel free to email, message, or call. My command chaplain, Bill Stewart, and I stand ready to help you in any way we can

    My contact information is below:

My children and I just got here within the last week.  My husband is in school in San Diego for the Tomahawk weapon.  He will be stationed on the Curtis Wilbur.  Was wondering if any wives or spouses could get in touch with me and just give me information on the FRG and activities going on and just to get the kids together.  I have a 2 year old and a 12 year old.  We are excited to be here and would love to explore the base and Japan.  Thank you so much.
