Hello there. My husband will be transferring there shortly and my children, pets and I will be staying behind until everything is in line for us to move there. My son plays select soccer (year round) here in the states and he wants to play when he gets back. To keep him competitive we need to find a year round league there. I see that the schools don't offer year round. Where is the best place to find select level soccer there? Any information would be great. Thanks

What I can suggest is you have him try out for a Japanese team! Here in Ikego, the Japanese teams practice on our fields I also know they have a teams in Yokosuka as well. I am not sure of the cost but it would be worth it if he want to play competitive soccer.. we do have MWR soccer here but it is not very competitive and lots of the kids on the teams have never played before and they only play twice a year I think. They have fall ball and summer futsal (indoor) and I wanna say that's it. Um if you can contact the MWR person here in Ikego her name it Tammy and she can probably hook you up with the Japanese coaches here.. Hope this helps!

Thank you very much. My son has played Competitive the last 3 years and we would hate to see him lose his skills. HE wants to play for the high school here when we get back to the states and it's important to keep him at the level he is used too so he can play when we get back. The other would be okay for our youngest for the time being.

    Again thank you...

your welcome.. My daughter played competitively as well but I have yet to put her in to the Japanese soccer because of there schedule. I don't see them practice except on Sundays but I believe it is an almost all day on Sundays. It would be great if they could do a competitive soccer here on base and travel to the other bases to play but they don't until you get into high school I believe, So for now they only play other teams and for my daughters team there was only two or three other girls teams to play against. I look forward to meeting you when you get here!!
