Hi all! It's that time for another meet-up --this time a night out. It will be for adults as there will be alcohol involved --so get those babysitters secured!

I want to hold it at the Y290 Izakaya that is located on Blue Street. The menu is on a touch screen (they have English!) and it's large with something for everyone. They do have set menus but since EVERYTHING on the menu is Y290 we may want to go with a la carte.

As of now I want to tentatively set it for FRIDAY, NOV 11th at 1900/7 PM. I will lock in a date very soon so everyone can plan. So please let me know if you're interested, have any input or questions!  I'll make sure to keep this thread updated (as I eventually will need a count closer to the date to make reservations).

Note: For anyone new to Japan or not familiar with Izakayas --Izakayas are places for friends, family and coworkers to meet up for a night out that could last well into the morning as they're open late (or should I say early!). Dishes are small and meant to be shared with everyone at the table. So throughout the night you will order dishes a few at a time along with drinks and keep the rhythm going until you've had enough! Ha ha. It's very fun and laid back --and also the perfect chance to try something new you've never tasted before!

Just bumping this up as a reminder.

Great! The Izakaya is on Blue Street --about half way between the base and Chuo Station. I'll be putting up a map for sure later if this is a go!

She will continue to play a major role, with its growth even after she leaves Japan.

Hi all --this is a map I made for a past meet-up but the Y290 Izakaya is in the same building as "Doma Doma".

To get to our Izakaya you'll want to look for Gold's Gym on Blue Street (A little past Mikasa Mall if coming from base). If you can find Gold's Gym you'll notice the pachinko parlor on the ground floor. Next to the entrance of the pachinko parlor there are two elevators --that is how you get to the Izakaya. You'll also usually notice a bunch of people in uniform standing outside handing out coupons or holding menus to get you into their establishment.

The sign for the Y290 Izakaya is at the beginning of this post so you can also look for that. And the Izakaya is on the 8th floor --directly across the elevators when you get off. You will be taking off your shoes once inside --as a warning.

I will be waiting just outside the Izakaya for everyone --if late just ask for help. Most likely the reservation will be under "Adam Jones".

Also remember to bring smaller bills if you have it. I hope you're all coming!!

I will try and get the reservations of 10 boosted to 15-20 people. Right now, its set for only 10 people.

When we called yesterday they only had 30 slots available, so I dont know if I can get it boosted, with only 1 day prior now. But we will try.

How late will this run? My girlfriend would love to meet some of the fine inhabitants of JB.COM, she should be arriving in Yoko Fri night around 1930.

It's where it says DOMA DOMA on the map. It's the same building, but it's on the 8th floor instead. There's a Gold's Gym in the same building. A pachinko parlor on the bottom floor --pass Mikasa mall and the art/gift store if coming from base. By the pachinko parlor there are two elevators (take that to the 8th floor). We had a really awesome turnout last night -pretty big group! Thanks Adam for dinner (and everyone that chipped in extra!) and the prizes! And of course thank you to everyone for showing up! It was nice finally putting faces to screen names!
