I am new to the sport, I just ordered my gear and mountain bike from amazon. I really just wanted to get away from the video games and sitting around bored at home. I have a car but never drive it, I always prefer to ride my bike every day to and from everywhere, and have done so for the past 4 years.

What got me started was this little mountain biking jump course? at a skate part south of base on sea-side Rt 16. I saw some guys doing some pretty neat jumps and other stuff on it so i decided to take my Schwinn hybrid (half road, half mountain bike) on there to try it out... not easy. Let's just say I biffed it pretty hard, made a fool of myself, and went home licking my wounds.

However, that half-arsed jump and full-arsed landing opened my eyes to a new world of awesomeness. After doing some research online on how to properly ride a mountain bike, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately I am stuck underway until thanksgiving time frame. My bike should arrive around then.

I am looking for an experienced rider who can show me the ropes and maybe even some trails. Video games are fun to an extent, but not a very amiable hobby. I wanna get out there and start something new, and who knows, maybe taking the next step in biking is the way to go!

    Thanks for the +1 Adam.

While the weather certainly hasn't been our friend lately, we have been getting in some great rides. Let us know if you are interested in going. We post most of them on the facebook page :

We are planning a group trip out to Fujimi Panorama when they open for the season in April. This is a ski resort that opens to mountain bikes in the spring and summer months. You can take the lifts up and ride down some great trails. There is also a 4X course where you get to combine downhill and dirt jumping into a single discipline.

The next ride is probably this coming Sunday morning.
