If you have been waiting for your FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification to come to the Far East, its just about here.  Hi, I am Denny Pollard a recently retired FAA field inspector out of Oakland, CA now living in Northern Japan.

 

I have applied for my Designated Mechanic Examiner (DME) certificate with the LAX International Field Office to be based out of the Yokota AB Aero Department facility.  If all goes well we should be up and running on October 12, 2011.  I will be an independent DME and the only one in the Far East.

 

If you are looking for an A&P prep course I am preparing one as well to teach at Yokota AB Aero Club or on your base if there are enough interested applicants.  I am very excited about returning to Japan again and sharing my aviation knowledge with those that are looking to obtain you’re A&P before getting out or retiring from the military.

 

If you are an A&P/IA already and need to attend an FAA approved 8-hour refresher course I have my own course and will be teaching that as well at Yokota AB or your base as the need is.

As soon as the LAX International Field Office approves my DME Yokota AB and we will put out a formal announcement explaining what is planned. The A&P prep course covers all 46 area's on the Oral and Practical tests and the 24 core elements that must be passed. I have the course broke down in three section Airframe, General, and Powerplant, they can be taught independent of each other or all three over two weeks.

I can take my training course on the rode as well to different bases, but would prefer to use Yokota Aero Club since they have the best facility and equipment on hand that will aid in teaching.

The dog was my Yello Lab Tess, she passed away shortly after the pictures was taken. I brought her to Japan back in 1995 for two years and she traveled with me. Miss not having my lab around.
