BZ: This is a Bravo Zulu to the Ikego Base Housing Office staff and maintenance crew. They are really above and beyond. I had a recent Incident where I couldn’t get in our house because my daughter tried to pick the lock and something got stuck in the key hole and our key wouldn’t work on the door. Today was not just a regular day but an important occasion because I have to be in Yokosuka for my friends daughters graduation and promised to cook something for their party. I called the Ikego Housing Office and explained to them what happened and I mentioned to Mr. Chiba that I needed to be In Yokosuka by 5 p.m. for the graduation. He immediately said he would do his best to have someone help me right away since he knew about the graduation and that it was almost 4 p.m. already. A couple of minutes later two Japanese maintenance personnel came running up and went straight to fixing the door. While they were working on the door lock , two other Japanese maintenance personnel checked to make sure the door would be fixed and if we need further assistance. It didn’t take them very long to fix it and soon my door was open. I just kept saying "thank you" over and over to them. Without their immediate help and concerns a lot of people probably would have been disappointed waiting for the food. I am really happy to be in Ikego with housing staff help that you can count on all the time. I just wanted you to know that the staff at Ikego Housing are the best. This was one of many incidents that I have needed help with and I have never been turned down or disappointed as they are always willing to help and in the most courteous way they can.
