Does anyone know where I can rent a car in Okinawa?  I'm going TAD next month (July 16), staying at Camp Foster but also driving up to Schwab.  I found a rental place offbase, but all I have is Stateside & SOFA license; I don't have an International Driver's License so I don't know if I could rent at a commercial place off base.  I'd be looking at MCCS/MCEX rental if they have it.

You can rent a car at the WestPac (just call the front desk at WestPac and ask for the number - I don't remember what it is). However, at the height of PCS season, it may be hit or miss.
We have rented from the on-base people twice (once during PCS and once while one of our cars was in the shop) and were pleased with the price and the car.

We rented a car just outside of Naha Airport. I think we arranged it with our travel agent when we booked the flights.

Their is a car rental place on Camp Foster as well. If you are staying at the Lodge on Camp Foster they have two buildings right next to each other and their is a car rental in the 2nd smaller building. Their is also two locations on Kadena AFB.

The numbers are 636-2460 for Futenma, and 959-0007 for Kadena. Foster's is in front of the Commissary # 645-4577. There are also offices on Kinser, Courtney, Futenma, Hansen, and the WestPac Inn.
