I am looking for a Christian School in or around Sasebo. If there is such a school could someone let me know. My son is doing OK at Hario but he is behind in his study and I feel as when we go back stateside he will be WAY behind. If any one knows if there is a Christian School around Hario or Sasebo let me know.

Please do not take this the wrong way as an education major and future teacher, these are a few suggestions before you do something as drastic as placing your son into an off-base school.

Have you vocalized these concerns to his teacher and to the school? Depending on his age there are numerous ways to help him get back on track and to encourage him to go beyond the necessary requirements. He might need a different teaching style or perhaps some extra help. A tutor or some private time with his teacher may help him.

There are many online tools that can give him the extra stimulate he might be missing. And there are even games such as jumpstart that encourage learning while allowing him to play.

Just keep in mind that off-base schools are extremely expensive and are year round, regardless of the fact of being Christian. And these school, since they carter to the Japanese student, are going to teaching in mostly Japanese. Unless your son is fluent in Japanese, entering such a school would in fact put him much farther behind than being in the Hario school.

As for the actually question, I can not say whether there are any schools in the area. Every search that I have done, and the few locals that I questioned, have giving no suggestion of such a school.
It'll all be alright. Cayla Rose's mommy. =]
