Hello I will be pcsing  in august. I have 3 kids under 9 yrs old. Is Yokosuka base back to normal since the dependents that left came back? could someone give me an estimate like 75% normalcy or anything. how long is the housing brief class? im a little confused i thought the housing brief was the same as the aob/ icr. thanks in advance.

It should be pretty much back to normal by August. Many with kids are waiting to come back until the school year ends, so it's still kind of quiet out where I live, but we've gotten some new families over the last week or so and it's starting to pick up a bit. I don't live on the main base, and I rarely go there, so someone else would have to give you a better idea of what it's like in Yokosuka. The housing brief is just an hour or so and then you can sign up to ride out to see Ikego and Negishi housing areas...it is a separate class from the AOB class.

Everyday things seem to be getting better on base. By August and when the new school year hits it should be pretty much like it was before 3/11. The only thing which will have a big impact this summer is that people need to conserve power --and if they don't we'll be going through blackouts. But I think we'll be notified in advance, and if they were like what they were a month ago they'll only be for a few hours.
