We finally have our departing orders in hand- we're civilian Dept. of the Navy and I'm trying to close on a house so we were able to pull some strings to get them...

But a family member who works for the gov't and has access to info coming from Yoko mentioned that the Navy doesn't have the trucks to pack out- they're all being used for earthquake relief efforts. 

Of course neither my husband nor I are in Japan now so we can't hop over and set our pack out date yet, but I'm curious if there is any truth to that rumor?  Are outgoing PCS orders and pack out going as scheduled?  Is it business as usual?

I don't know if that's true or not, but I have seen some move in/move outs with the trucks happening recently. Granted, nothing compared to before the quake.

Maybe some of the trucks are being used, IDK. I'd assume the moves happening are for people that's stuff was already here or in transit before everything happened.

I know of someone who is packing out today so you should be fine!

Outgoing PCS orders and pack out's are going as scheduled. My neighbors had there pack out yesterday and I saw another moving truck for somebody else across the street moving out also.
