If someone is acting independently, they should be separated. And yes, that person is tremendously ignorant and irresponsible. And with what I've seen from so many corpsmen, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was one. But, as of now it is "author unknown".

on that note...my husband works in Peds at the hospital at Yokosuka...and they DID..let me repeat..DID call parents. it was NOT publicly announced because 1- it is just a SUGGESTION and 2- it would cause MORE panic...the panic that all of you are BIT**ing about everyone leaving. It is VOLUNTARY, just like the evacuation, as a precautionary measure. there has been like 50 people on this site say that people have called them yet people are STILL wanting to be all high and mighty and act like they know everything. JUST STOP!!!

randy im pretty sure you posted earlier about me not being to japan or living there so i needed to stop posting stuff because i didnt know what was going on....im pretty sure you need to back off everyone and stop acting like you know everything, its a shame to see grown people on here acting like they are in highschool and putting people down in the time of need over in japan..and YEA im not over there.. i would love to be over there with my "ignorant corpsman" who has saved many of lives......... you'll probably be thanking them one day. i cant believe you even said that......

They wont give out names.... they cant. end of story, get over it, either leave on the voluntary departure or dont, but dont sit here on this website arguing about things that other people dont understand because they have different ways of dealing with it. also it seems like everyone saying that the hospital ISNT calling doesnt even have kids....so WHAT does it matteR?!?!?!?!!?!? move on with your life please..
