I'm looking to visit my young sailor stationed at Camp Shields around the end of this year. Any suggestions on where I should stay? Any Navy lodge (or similar) in the area? I've neer been to Japan with the exception of passing through the commercial airport.

There is the sho gunn inn on Kadena. Shiels is really close to Kadena. Your probly still going to need a rid there though. Not a whole lot of public transportaion around Okinawa.
