Q: I have a question concerning the civilian move to National Security Personnel System (NSPS) that pertains to pay grade requirements to get into certain establishments. For places that require a persons pay grade for patronage like the Officer’s Club, checking visitors in on base, and the New Sanno Hotel (for the various room rates), how are they going to be able to tell the difference between a GS-5 and a GS-12 pay grade once they become a NSPS pay grade?

A: The Grade level equivalency information under NSPS is not yet available. The Department of Defense is expected to provide the equivalency in the near future and as soon as that information is available, we will send out a general notice for publication. For now, the pre-conversion GS-grade will be used when required to get into certain establishments.
