The school year has started up again, and so has the illegal use of the residential parking areas for drop-off and pick-up of students.

This is a safety issue. Parents are speeding through the tower parking areas, and putting kids in danger.

The school knows this is a problem and for years has done NOTHING to fix it. They not only won't fix the problem, they are part of the problem. The school has reserved the parking garage next to the water, but park in the tower parking instead. Driving through the parking garage today, I found 23 empty parking spots. I guess that means they have plenty of parking, and need to start using it.

The school has an area next to the school for pick-up and drop-off of students, but they don't force the parents to stop using the tower parking. I am sure the school will cop out, and use security as an excuse for not stepping up.

The school now has new gates around the playground, and could lock these during the day, this would protect the students and control access to the school grounds

Wow. I don't really have much to say on your topic (sounds like you make some good points and maybe you could Action Line this?). I just wanted to say I'm impressed with the pictures to help prove your point. Great job and I hope they stop dropping off/racing through there!

Looks like this was asked before:

The problem was fixed, but as with everything else, when you stop watching the DODEA staff, they returns to the illegal parking.

I have also found that DODEA staff can't drive either. When I was entering my tower parking, the entrance was blocked by an old lady that has no concept of drive on the LEFT in Japan. she started b******* at me for getting in HER way.

Best part is if she could read any of the 18 signs in the tower parking she would know not to park in tower parking, and would never had been in the way.

At her age she probably should never drive. Maybe she not as old as she appears, but could just not be smart enough to read English.

    Hmm...DODEA education/educators.
