    CFAY Yokosuka Thanksgiving Adopt‐A‐Sailor 2010

    Help us make the holidays a truly delicious event!

    CFAY is putting the call out for willing families with room at their dinner table who can invite an extra guest for Thanksgiving.

    Apply to host a Sailor for Thanksgiving.

    A lottery is to determine which volunteers will host.



    This year, Sailors will enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with local families thanks to the Adopt‐a‐Sailor program.

    Applications will be accepted starting on October 16, 2010.

    ALL HOST FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 1500, November 16, 2010.

    Applicants will be notified on the week of November 16, 2010 if they have been accepted by the program.

    You may email us at adoptasailor2010@fe.navy.mil with any additional questions.

    Very Important: Drivers must have a valid driver’s license in order to pick up Sailor(s). Drivers not in possession of a driver’s license may forfeit privilege of adopting Sailor(s) unless other arrangements have been made.

    Host Restrictions:

    1. Requests for Sailors of a particular racial, religious background or sex cannot be honored. However, it may be helpful to note if your family will be serving a particular ethnic food or a particular diet, (i.e. vegetarian) and we will try to match those with Sailor’s preference.

    2. Requests for Sailors will limited to four per family. Families must live no farther than 50 miles from CFAY.

    3. Arrive at CFAY ADM James D. Kelly Fleet Recreation Center no earlier than 0730 on Thanksgiving Day. Sailors must be picked up no later than 0830 the Fleet Recreation Center is located across the waterfront.

    4. Sailors are required to be back in their quarters in accordance with liberty card requirements.

    5. In case of an emergency or late return call the Command Duty Officer at 090‐8046‐5954

    6. Underage drinking is strictly prohibited. It is the host’s responsibility to confirm that the Sailor is of drinking age.

    CFAY Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Sailor Program –

    The CFAY Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Sailor Program provides the opportunity for Sailors to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with a local host family.

    Applications are now being accepted for those families interested in hosting a Sailor for Thanksgiving dinner. Applications will be accepted starting Oct. 16 and must be received no later than 3 p.m. Nov. 16.

    Approved applicants will be notified sometime during the week of Nov. 16.

    Application forms are available for download at https://www.cnic.navy.mil/Yokosuka/index.htm located under the Public Announcements section.

    Fax the completed application to 243-9901.
