BZ: Kudos to Club Alliance for their outstanding Valentine’s Day dinner. It rivaled elegant meals costing more than $300 served in La Jolla and downtown San Diego’s Gas Lamp Quarter. The evening was a great treat for us as we were picked up in a limo, yes it was a real limo; escorted from the red carpet by gracious staff to our table in the marvelously transformed ballroom where we had a private dining area separated by delicate material artfully hung from the ceiling with romantic lighting. Plants were strategically placed to lend privacy and live keyboard music played softly in the background. The food was a gastronomic delight. I am extremely impressed because I only later learned that all the staff came together to put this event on for all of us here. Many of the people serving us were from the kitchen staff or from the front of the restaurant. Their care and passion to make this a special night for us to remember was evident. Special congratulations go out to Chef Watanabe for the spectacular meal. We were able to relax all evening knowing that we did not have to worry about “none for the road.” When we were ready, we were told that our driver was ready to take us safely home.
