    Staff Sgt. Josef L. Dukes, Found Dead In Okinawa Barracks

    CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — A Marine who was found dead Saturday in his Camp Foster barracks room was identified as Staff Sgt. Josef L. Dukes, Marine officials said Tuesday. However, no details concerning his death were available.

    The incident is being investigated by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, according to a news release.

    Dukes, 35, of Bogart, Ga., was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company, Marine Wing Communication Squadron 18, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan, the release said.

    He joined the Marine Corps in April 1995 and was promoted to staff sergeant Jan. 1, 2003. He arrived on Okinawa on March 1, 2007.
