Q: I have a question about the drivethru ATM. There have been several times when I have gone through there to find several people waiting to use the ATM on a walk-up basis. Who has priority use of the drive-thru ATM? It seems to me that cars would have the priority and I wonder why more pedestrians do not use the walk-up ATM’s that are located throughout the base.

A: Although the ATM you are referring to is a drive-thru ATM, it was never intended to be accessible solely to drive-up customers. That location was selected because of its proximity to the waterfront and provides Sailors with a convenient location to do their banking as they exit the installation. Use of the ATM is on a first-come, first serve basis - the exact same procedure utilized at all the other ATM’s on the installation. There are no head-of-line privileges for drive-up customers. Everyone needs to be patient and understanding with each other.
