BZ: I felt the need to write to you regarding the Navy Exchange. I have been a customer there for the two years I have been here and I wanted to say how different I now view the Exchange. I have received and watched exceptional customer service recently and feel that sort of service should be recognized. On four separate occasions I have noticed excellent customer service from the same female at the Exchange. She always looks happy to be there and happy to help. Although she always looks busy, I have watched her stop and assist customers and pick up trash from the floor while other staff walk straight past. This weekend I saw her there early on the day of the big sale and still there late that night and all weekend. Recently, I saw her walking out of the store and removing her badge. A customer walked up to her and asked her a question. The employee put her badge back on and walked back into the store. I myself had a customer service problem in the ladies department. The department manager pointed me to an associate who did not help. The female employee I am praising must have overheard my frustration and stepped in to help and walked me through everything I needed, assisting with a Christmas purchase and informing me of pack and wrap and mail deadlines. I think her name is Carrie or Carolyn. She has what I think is a British accent. I believe the Navy Exchange is an important part of our everyday quality of life here. Will the base start recognizing good service and hold them up as examples to us all? Would you consider awards for excellent service for all services we receive on base?
