Ok I have no where else to fuss about this, so I am going to do it here. My husband took the chief's test in January and has been waiting for the results just like everyone else. Well, now that they are out he finds out that not only was he no selected, but that his test and package weren't even considered!!! WTF He left his last command 6 months early, went to a school and transferred here. They allowed him to take the test and submit his package. Now they tell him since he left early his test doesn't count, therefore his package was never looked at. You mean to tell me that someone couldn't have said something about this before now!!! For any of you that have gone through this, you know the anticipation of waiting is rough and then to find this out. I want to fight this and at least have his test count, but don't know where to start. Any suggestions.

I can offer no suggestions but wanted to offer condolences..my husband made chief in 07...we xtransferred in Jan of 2007 and we could have left as early as jan 5th but my husband didn't want anything to get messed up or not have a test waiting for him in Sasebo...so we chose to stay at his last command until he could take the test.
Good luck in fighting it but don't think you can...it's his own battle should he choose to do it.

Not trying to put salt on a wound or anything, but who is telling you that he was not even considered? He should have known that many months ago when the board eligibility results came out. If his name was on that list then he was considered. I have been around the Navy all my life (both as dependent and active duty) and have never heard of someone who took the test, passed and was board eligible that was later informed they were not considered.

Again, not trying to push more hurt, but it just does not sound true.

I agree with Wilson, in that you need to dig up the board eligible list first. And then take it from there.

I just checked the Navy Advancement site..they are no longer posting the Eligibility lists for some reason. You will have to ask him to log on to his BOL account and pull up the eligibility for himself there.

Thanks guys. I will see what I can get him to do. It all sounds like a bunch of BS to me, but then again I am finding that a lot of things in the Navy are that way.
