So, my fiance and i are desperately trying to decide if he should stay in and go to Japan or should he get out and stay in our home of San Diego.

I was wondering if i could get some insight on Japan/ Yokosuka and what everyone thought. also, any help on us coming to a conclusion to our debate. thank you so much.

Shawna ask him if he likes what he does, if so then keep doin it. I think this military stuff is too damn easy. The only real pain is beating the tape!!! As for your time here it depends on where he would be working. Japan is amazing if you guys take the time to go out and see it. Most people who hate it here refuse to go out and deal with the language barrier. Everything is a challenge but its all worth it imo. Shawna, Unfortunately I don't think many people are going to see this since it's in this thread.

Are you a single couple --no kids? Do you like Japanese/"foreign" food, or are at least willing to try it? Do you like to just go out and see things even know there is a language barrier? If yes to all, then you'll LOVE Japan. If you have kids (specifically young kids), but yes to all otherwise, it'll make experiencing things harder, but you'll still have fun.

If you're the type that doesn't like to travel around or doesn't like foreign food/things, then I wouldn't bother. There are too many people that come out here who are "closed-minded" and are miserable. It can also put a lot of strain on the marriage.

You can always go to San Diego again, it's one of the easiest places to get stationed (usually, depending on the rate)! We've always wanted to come to Japan and it has far exceeded are expectations.

If you have specific questions I would consider looking around (they have probably been asked before), or start a new thread so people will see your questions!
