Well I guess I missed all the Back to School online specials- my inbox is getting filled up with HALLOWEEN ads now!

Anyone want to take bets on when the first Christmas ads start rolling out?  LOL

Its funny how companies start selling holiday items 2-3 months before an event.

I think we will see Christmas items November 2nd. Right after halloween, all the stuff will be taken off the shelves and replace with christmas items.

While we are on the topic of Halloween it brings it fond memories of last year.

For all those newly reported personnel that have never experienced Halloween in Japan. If you live onbase and have a flux of visitors (mostly Japanese kids) they allow to trick-or-treat onbase, PLEASE BUY ENOUGH CANDY!

The last few years its so sad to see people run out so quick.

Oh no, we'll start seeing Christmas items either November 1st, or early in October. Gotta get a jump on the busiest shopping season of the year. XD

Christmas stuff was out before Halloween came and went last year. There was also not enough candy on base by Halloween day. I remember being out trying to buy candy that day and they were bringing out boxes full of Christmas candy in place of Halloween candy. And the candy was expensive!! We went through $50 of candy in no time due to the amount of people. It was crazy. I am all for Japanese guests coming in to trick-or-treat, but it was just crazy here. There was no way we could supply or afford candy for half the people. We ended up giving my daughters candy away too that night. I love Halloween. So much so that it's our wedding anniversary. Lol. We will be visiting in Virginia this year though, so I won't get to see the turn out.

A friend of mine spent over $100 on candy last year- and still went in to raid her cupboards. She was one of the few people to still have candy after an hour and she had 30 people lined up at her house. It's almost just TOO busy and crowded and so many kids are disappointed because most houses are empty (they're trick or treating too) or out of candy. I wish the base would limit the number of guests coming on. It was just mayhem with the HUGE crowds of people out. If we didn't love Halloween so much I wouldn't go this year. btw, the Pac Man guys last year were hilarious!

How cool Adam. We had a Halloween wedding. We had all of our guests wear costumes to the ceremony. lol . My hubby and I got married with me in a dress, and him in his blues. But, after the ceremony, we went off and changed in to costume. When we walked in to the reception he was Darth Vader and I was Padme. They brought us in to the Star Wars theme song. It was such a fun wedding.

They didnt have any tiny baby costumes out when I seen them. They had toddler to adult sizes in the usual 5 differnt things darth vader, superman ect. Not quite the selection you would see in the states. Thats why I have been making my costume this whole summer. lolz. Its been rainy I got bord.

I had tons of candy last year but we hardly got any visitors where I live. I guess it's since we're so far back on base and in a tower. So I think I'll go out and enjoy it this year. Too bad, I actually like handing out candy.

But dang, ya'll better start buying some now!!!

(And the NEX had jackets already in some areas... ughhh, I'm not buying clothes for summer yet! lol)

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE how stores are always 3-4 months ahead of the seasons. I can't shop for coats and winter hats when it's 100 degrees outside. And I hate going to the store in January to replace lost winter gloves only to find bikinis on the racks. And the way kids grow, it's awful to try to plan that far ahead for their clothes.

Use the internet!! It's so much easier to get what you want. If they don't ship use APObox.com. They will ship anything within the limits. There is another site that you can use but if you want to shop, just use the internet. Also, you can get clothes out in town. Uniqlo is a place that has pretty much all your needs. I am a big guy and they even have some things for me....some...LOL
