I live in a tower apartment and would like to grow some herbs and maybe a couple of veggies on my patio. I have never attempted this, but have heard it can be done. Have any of you tried?

This should be quite easy. I have done container gardens in the states before and I know a lot of people do it out in town. All you should need is pots (I prefer clay ones) soil, and seeds (you should be able to find at the NEX).

    Hello,
It's so nice to hear that you are interested in using your patio to grow some veggies! First of all, do you have a decent southern exposure? In other words, do you get sun at least 5-6 hours a day?

As for seeds, the NEX does not have any. You will have to order online or go to Homes or another store in town. At Homes they have quite a variety of seeds. They also have plants in their garden section that you can transplant to bigger pots. It's very frustrating trying to get supplies at the Autoport. I have tried many times to talk to the manager to order gardening supplies for the middle school.

We have a container garden at the middle school. We are now growing sweet basil, lime basil, tomatoes, hot peppers, melons, cucumbers, and squash in the 2nd floor courtyard. You are welcome to become involved with our gardening club at the school. I'd be happy to share leftover seeds. Just reply to this and we can get meet at the middle school garden.
