So as we wait to leave the states and get to Japan, I have been looking to see what employment is out there.  I have come accross a job I am interested in on the weekly MWR postings on the website for MWR but it only give a Japan phone number to contact.
Does anyone know if there is another way I can contact them?  I am due to arrive in Yoko in less than 24 days.<A href="http://www.cnic.navy.mil.yokosuka/MWR.index.htm\   however it only gives a japan phone number to contact about a job.  "><BR><BR></A>

This is truely your best bet considering you are in the US right now. They will tell you this either way when you call, so this is what you need to do and what you need to have in order just to appy for a job with MWR. I've gone through all of this because I work with them now. There isn't much you can do until you get here anyways. Here's what you need to do. When you come into MWR Perrsonal, it's on the 2nd Floor above Taco Bell and Starbucks, room 223, you come in, fill out and app, and you much have the following with you when you turn in your app, your passport WITH your SOFA stamp in it, your FEA so it's prove with which command your sponser is with. Don't expect to hear back for a fews weeks because personnal won't give whatever place the apps until they have a few. They want to have whatever place do interviews. What job are you looking at? You can message me, and I will find out what you need if it's for an HRO job.

Do not let mwr be your only choice. There are other on base jobs through Yokosuka HRO at https://www.cnic.navy.mil/Japan/HumanResources/USCSJobs/index.htm. You can apply for jobs at the commisary at https://cpolwapp.belvoir.army.mil/public/vabSelfNom/. It is the armys jobs website. You have to set up an online profile and stuff. Do not be in to big of a rush though. Just settling in can take about a month. You should go to FFSC in Yokosuka they can help alot. Military spouses get job preference overseas in may jobs but you will be competing against the other spouses. I would get all you paperwork ready and documents and stuff because just apply for a job on base is kind of a hassle. Alot of forms just to apply. There are other jobs you could do like teach english.

Thanks, Dave. The reason I was looking at MWR, is because I am looking to be in the fitness and recreation fields and there was an opening or 2 that I was interested in. I will look at the other sites and make sure my paperwork is all set.

SamiMaMa, I will send you a message as to what jobs I was looking at.
