Would it be too much to ask that the military give a little explanation on some of the acronyms they put on the forms that civilians fill out?  Holy cow, learning Japanese will probably be easier than navigating all the forms we have had to fill out thus far in being hired and moving here and trying to get housing, etc.  One lady we talked to in the States trying to fill out our HHG moving papers got frustrated with us calling every 10 minutes asking what something meant.  I think they ought to create a little translation paper and include it with the job offer.  I guess I'm just tired of people getting irritated with me for not knowing something instead of just being clear in explaining in the first place.

    That's all.

I think every "trade" has it's own language. We forget when someone isn't in that type of trade that we need to speak in real terms. I know that the medical, banking, hotel, and several other trades have their own langiage.
Once you get through this move, you too will know what the language is.
    It does get easier

I completely agree with you there Season. Millitary to english dictionaries should be standard issue. Also be aware that some acronyms have double and triple meanings. This is especially true when it comes to the more common ones like P.M.S. When my husband has PMS its not the same as when I do.

Here is a guide to most Navy acronyms. Good luck! It might be too late for your paperwork, but good for use in the future.
