Maybe you guys at the Atsugi base will be interested in this party! It's sort of in the area....

I've been wanting to check out the Shonan Beach area since summer started!
Then, I find out about this techno/house party on the beach??! Oh yea...

Even if the club isn't really your scene...this will be a guaranteed good day out at the beach!

    Check it out!

We made the mistake of going to Enoshima on Marine Day (Ocean Day - 3rd Monday in July). I knew that there was some sort of Japanese holiday that weekend, but I didn't realize it was Marine Day. If I had known, I would have avoided all beaches in Japan like the plague! Parking was an absolute nightmare! It took us an hour and a half to drive there and another hour and a half to find parking (way out in the middle of nowhere!). Enoshima is only 12 miles away (from where we live), but don't let that fool you! Every time I've gone to Enoshima, I've had the same problem w/ traffic and parking. Plus, parking is VERY expensive right on the beach. Expect to pay 1000Y and hour! Some lots are a little cheaper, but they fill up fast.

My recommendation would be to take the train if you go to this beach. The station is very close to the beach. It's a lot less of a hassle. It's a nice beach. The sand is a little darker there than on Zushi and Kamakura Beach. The music and atmosphere were great while we went. You won't find as many gaijin out there (but lots of pretty Japanese girls for you men out there!). Just don't make the mistake we did and go on Marine Day (unless you take the train!).
