Are there any MMA or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes on base or near by off base?

I spoke with some people today about your question. We have found someone in the area that does BJJ..

I recently started going to MMA classes at a gym called Rodeo Style.Its only about a five minute train ride.They offer,grappling,jiu jitsu,boxing and kick boxing classes.Im on the lookout for new places though so if anyone knows of any lemme know!!!

What was wrong with Rodeo?? Just curious...and there is Pancrease(sp) in Yokohama but I hear it's a haul to get out to it

Theres nothing really wrong with Rodeo Style!I kinda just feel like i should be learning BJJ from someone who has a black belt if i wanna take this seriously.I researched them and i dont think any of them do.And when i ask questions it seems they kinda show me but then rush into something else.The language barrier is really horrible cause i have a strong accent apparently.I would kinda like to know the submissions im learning and its just not well explained i guess...haha i feel like im bitching about it but i really love Kato (the instructor),He tries but i think im intimidating a little for some reason.Jiu jitsu and grappling are the only classes i have somewhat of a problem with,kickboxing and boxing are a little less technical so they are great!

yeah i know what you mean but they real try there...that's why I always recommend them...also remember you can youtube some moves you learned to understand it a little better..and accent?? You from the south or Texas?But glad yo like the place over all

HAHAHAHAAAA "the south or Texas?" hhhaaaa im so glad you said that!I hate when people assume im from Texas cause of my accent,TEXAS ISNT THE SOUTH!!!haha well technically it is but i dont consider it to be.Im actually from Florida,north Florida.Jacksonville.But grew up in a small country town in Jacksonville.I prolly sound like im from Georgia....but anyways!Im gonna keep at RodeoStyle,why arent you going there still?

I just don't have time I transfer in a month and I work shift hours....Wish I could have went more....Yeah FL does have an accent and Texas is it's own country that's why it's not part of the south lol Anyways I think Rodeo is a good deal for the price and hope you enjoy it.

REally where on base?

yeah its at the fleet rec somewhere on the 4th floor i believe.i think the class is at 1700 and then its meet and greet afterwards.i called the number provided for it to see if the class is open to everyone or if we need to sign up but no one is answering...or maybe im dialing the number wrong since im not using a dsn phone,heres the number,241-2955
