BZ – I would like to thank Viola Witherspoon and the staff at Naval Legal Service Office Pacific for coordinating immigration interviews for service members during the April 14 U.S. Embassy visit. Mrs. Witherspoon was extremely helpful. She took time out to personally walk my wife and me through the I-130 paperwork. After meeting with Mrs. Witherspoon, I was comfortable with submitting my wife’s visa application. Once my family and I showed up for our appointment, Mrs. Witherspoon and the staff at legal made our experience enjoyable and informative. The officers provided doughnuts and continually updated us on our wait time, as well as what we could expect when we met with the embassy officials. Having been thoroughly prepared for our meeting, it lasted less than 30 minutes. The embassy staff worked efficiently, and we were able to complete the entire process in less than two hours. I have been to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, and I can assure you that had my family and I drove to Tokyo, the process would have been twice as long. The officers at CFAY legal are the best on base, and this was one of those occasions where I was very proud to serve in the United States Navy. This service should be available to all service members who acquire dependants in Japan. Bravo Zulu to Yokosuka’s Naval Legal Service Office Pacific and the U.S. Embassy Tokyo for a job well done!
