My daughter has been asking for months to get her ears pierced.  Is there any place I can take her near Yokosuka base?

Hi there. Just wondering if you've had any luck with getting your daughters ears pierced? I have a baby girl and have been wanting to get her ears done. I just haven't seen or heard of any places where I can take her. Will japanese even pierce baby girls ears?

Here's some info, don't know if it's still relevant because it's from 2004:

It is definitely not common to get a baby's ears pierced in Japan. It might be hard to find someone who'll do it. There is a Claire's in More's mall (same floor as Starbucks). They might sell the stuff for you to do it at home, if you're comfortable with that.

Is body piercing done here? I would say, if it is, and if there's a piercing place in Yokosuka, I'd go there. I've heard that piercing with needles causes less damage to the tissue than piercing with a gun, anyway.

A lot of people in Japan pierce their ears at home with a little gun sold in stores. But, I really, really don't recommend those! They're awful for piercings and they can easily screw up the position, plus infects easily.

Or they go to the Doctor to do it. With that you know it will be sterile at least.

The other option for people is to scout out a tattoo/piercing parlor. But those are "off-limits" here.

What I would recommend is finding someone on base that has previous experiences piercing (they have been trained, probably certified and interned just on piercing) and having them do it with a proper needle and items. Less risk of infection and the right placement.

There is a medical center on blue street beside the fish market ... there is a elevator on the left just go on the elevator and it is located on the fifth floor... They do piercings ears, and body peircings... A doctor phsically does it and it is very clean and safe. They do walk ins also.

I am resurrecting this thread. My daughter really wants her ears pierced for her birthday. Does anyone know anymore about the medical center Mrs. Perfect speaks about?

Does anyone even know which fish market?
