There is a restaurant on the main drag in China Town just two blocks down from the China Square Building (where Travesso's Grill is located). The name of the restaurant is Sai En it is a seven floor building (tallest in Chinatown I am told). The owner and his family lived in NC for 24 years and just recently returned to Japan. They speak English perfectly (perfectly Southern that is). Great food, great service and awesome conversation. If anything it is entertaining to talk to a Chinese man with a deep Southern drawl. They do business like a US Business would (ie: Stop by to ask how you like your meal and just to have general conversation.)

Ask for Joey and tell him Wil sent ya!

The address is: Yamas**ta Cho 164

Is it Chinese food? I'm guessing so, but had to ask.
    Thanks

It is indeed Chinese food and some of the best I ever had. I know a lot of base personnel are somewhat hesitant to approach a lot of restaurants out of fear of miscommunication or lack of communication. This guy and his family speak four languages three of them fluently (his Spanish is rusty -- he said that). I highly recommend the place.
