Did anybody go to the Curry Festival at Mikasa Park over the weekend?  There were soooo many people there!  I was surprised that there weren't as many Americans out.  Maybe there just wasn't enough advertisement for the people on base.  The only reason I knew about it was because I'm on the FFSC mailing list and there was an email that went out about it.  Anyway, it was a lot of fun!  Tons of vendors out selling all kinds of curry!  They also had live entertainment on the main stage overlooking the ocean.  It was a beautiful weekend to be out and about!  I think it ends at 4:00 today, so you got a couple more hours before you have to wait until next year!

We were there on Saturday.  Drove down from Zama. We check on-line for fests and activities every weekend and love getting out out and about.  The food was great and the park is wonderful.  We even stood in line for an hour to get some of the curry motsu, but they ran out right before we got to the front of the line....bummer.

I did enjoy checking out the Navy base too.  It was only the second time I've been there and I've been in Japan two years. Great selection of micro brews at the exchange.  I'll be back.

This weekend is the Thai festival at Yoyogi Park.  We went last year and are going again tomorrow.  Well worth it.

last day of the festival is today. Try it guys till 1600. They got a lot of good food and curry varieties than your usual Cocos curry ichibanya though I am a big fan of Cocos but it is nice to try something different sometimes. They got curry bread and a lot of other stuff. The price is also very cheap. Its at the mikasa park.

I went yesterday......today is another beautiful day to head out! I had Thai curry w/ a big piece of naan for only 600Y. Very tasty. I also recommend the deep fried curry bread. Delicious! I still didn't see too many base people out. I highly recommend it if you like curry!
