Q: The service I receive at the Purdy Gym is outstanding. However I want to address a problem with the showers. The showers at the gym are cleaned everyday by a worker. But what they fail to do is wash the curtains in the shower. Some of the curtains have mildew and mold stains all over them. I consider this a health issue that needs to be corrected.

A: Thank you for your comments. Due to poorly designed ventilation systems in these areas, molding on the shower curtains has been a recurring problem. We have already had the curtains thoroughly cleaned, and have spoken with the janitorial contractors and requested a more frequent and thorough washing cycle for these curtains. We’ve also ordered additional sets of curtains in order to quickly swap out ones that need a more thorough cleaning. We’ve also increased the frequency when the gym staff inspects these areas to ensure cleanliness. We believe these new measures will resolve the issue. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
