Q: The playground across from Fuji tower and along Recreation Bay is a bit of a disaster. The rock-imbedded plastic which used to line one of the walkways has broken up or been broken up and now is strewn all across the playground, creating an injury hazard for many children who run around here. I haven’t been to the playground for some weeks, so I don’t know how long it has been this way. Could you please pass this along to the correct facilities personnel so that the playground can be attended to properly?

A: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ve had the area cleaned up, and have initiated a work request with NAVFAC-FE to develop a longer term solution. We’ve also asked the MWR staff to keep an eye on the area for future problems. In the meantime, we ask the parents cooperation to please try to keep their children from spreading and kicking the rocks out of the walkway area.
