BZ: I would like to thank two people from the Yokosuka Housing Office. After getting orders to transfer, my spouse and I went to the housing office and were met by friendly staff at the front desk.

Once signed in we were asked to have a seat and within a few minutes we were greeted by Nichele McBride. After explaining our situation and desires, she immediately went into overdrive.

She took the time to ensure that we were explained every detail about the situation that we were requesting. Within a couple of hours we received a phone call and e-mail from Naomi Kamazaki, she wanted to set up an appointment to talk about relocating to Negishi Housing Detachment.

We went in for the appointment and were issued a house in less than 20 minutes. These two ladies were the most professional employees that I have encountered on any base in Japan in the past four years. Not one time was I told it would be impossible but rather was told lets see what we can do to make it happen.

Nichele McBride continued to stay in contact with us to ensure everything was going well and if there was anything else that we needed. After being in Japan for a few years it was always the impression that the housing office has had some less than willing to work with you employees staffed there.

After this encounter I refuse to believe that impression. Dan Rourke has changed it around for the better. From the professional greeting you receive at the door to the negotiation of housing to the employee walking to the door as you leave.

This was the most rewarding experience dealing with any business on base.
