A: When Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) prepares for a typhoon it is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that all their belongings are secure before the storm arrives. CFAY Command Duty Officer (CDO) all tenant command CDO’s, CFAY Security and Public Works will notify the owner of the building, for example, the Commissary, to secure or move inside their building anything that could become a “missile” hazard during the storm. In regards to on base housing it is the responsibility of the occupant to secure their belongings as well. If you see something that could be a hazard and it concerns on base housing then you should report this to the housing office for non-compliance.
