Okay so it is getting to be that time of year again for road tax. So I havnt seen anything about where the road tax will be held on base this year but just keep checking Japan Update. I do know you can go to the car insurance place in the USO and have it done. I just got my road tax done today. So what you can expect to pay is
for a 500 series plate                              for a 300 series plate
    7,500.00 yen                                            19,000.00 yen

for another seiries plate its listed as other with no price. So I did mine at the Kadena USO. This year they couldn't get the stickers so it is only taking them two days to process the payment. Then you take your recipt over to the vehical registration office on Camp Foster and get your sticker there. I'm pretty sure the vechical registration office is the same place you go if you try to JCI your car yourself. So that building is behind the gas station. To get there from the commisary gate, Once you get on to base pass that first road to the commisary. Take a right on to the next road (the one you take to get to the gas station,) pass the entrace for the gastaion it should be the next building. Its plain and white like all the othere thought  So it doesnt look special when you see it. Just look to make sure the convience store is directly behind it although you cant get to the store from the vechical registration parking lot.
