Many many places including a huge Jusco just a short walk out the front gate. There is an area called American Village with many shops and restaurants as well. It's a nice boardwalk area complete with a giant ferris wheel.

It's almost exactly 1/2 a mile from the front gate to the beach with all of those places to shop in between.

If you go out lesters gate thats right across from the starbucks, you can go up the 24 to your right or the 23 to your left. The 24 is very twisty and very narrow. It has alot of little shops with neat stuff in them . The 23 is between Lester and Kadena there is a CoCoichbana's,100yen shops ect. If you go straight out the gate twoards the starbucks as Mitte said there is Jussco/ american village and tons and tons of little shops all over that place there is even a hidden PetBox on the first road after the Starbucks. Just make a right on to it and go striaght it will be on your right side. If you go the opposite way to your left (its down aways though) is the baby bunny store. Its cheap japanesse kids cloths. Also if you go down the first road after the starbucks and you go straight. You barly pass the baby bunny store on your left. You will see a Pink dimond sign. Almost at eye leve when driving. Turn right at the sign for Arah beach. Its one of the few acutal sand beaches and its the beach with the pirate ship the kids can play on.
