I am interested too.. Let me know when you do it Prime..

I was just talking with my wife today about going fishing. She is not into it, but I was thinking more of renting a boat/fishing tour and going out for a fishing tour with a local Japanese group.

Whats so weird. I tried fishing here in Japan. Fishing here is SOOO DIFFERENT. I was watching the people along side us, and they were using the strangest bait..

Go up to Yamanakako in the summer. Shoreline fishing, or boat... worms are good (but expensive up there and somewhat difficult to find if you don't know the area).

I'm not much of a fisherman, but I do have a few poles and some crab traps. I won't be here much in after the beginning of May, but I'll be back in the area in August. The rules are pretty lax on base; what are the laws out in Japan?

Is there a base liscense? Is there a Game Warden? Can you phone fish (oh yeah, best way to get em off the bottom)?

I know off base, there is a daily license requirement. You can get the license at any bait/tackle shop, of course. Any of the campgrounds also sells them.

But wardens? Never seen one. I know that the individual campgrounds on the lake police the area for license's, so I'm assuming that there IS a warden of some sort. Just never seen one.
