Does anyone know the deadline for the road tax?  I heard in passing that it is sometime in May, does anyone know the exact date?  We are junking our car around May 3rd so I want to know if the deadline is after that date.

June first is the final day that you are required to have the 2010 road tax sticker

I forgot to pay my roadtax while the representatives from the Kanagawa Tax Office came to base. My question is, can I pay somebody to go there for me and pay my road taxes for me? Not sure if it has to be me or not. Thanks!

    DONT PAY ANYONE!

Its so easy to get there and pay. Your in Yokosuka right?

Just go to the TAX office. Take a left from the main gate - head down 16, keep going till it will very to the left and you see the gas station on the left.

I will get the official map for you. I will post it here.

Hey Adam! I went left out the main gate and followed rt 16 all the way to KFC. I didn't see it. Is the gas station you're talking about called Eneos? Or before that? Yeah, I need a map. Thanks for the help!

It must vary base to base, or maybe by each prefecture. Here in Iwakuni, we pay road tax in April. Deadline is end of April. All over base they have posters saying come to the Auto Shop to pay. What they don't tell you is that they add $5 for the service, but you can pay at PMO (or downtown) without the $5 fee. Darn scammers!

Yeah, what Adam said. It really is easy to do (just because you didn't make it to Fleet Theater, don't feel sad/annoyed. You'd probably take just as long driving to the tax office and doing it there, you'll see!).

I'd upload a map but it would be in crayon and on the back of a napkin It's really easy to get to though.
