A friend of mine asked me to babysit her son who is 4 months old.
She dropped him off at my house this morning at 10:30am.  She will pick him up Tomorrow at 2:30pm.

Wow, this is one of the longest days..  It just went by sooooo slow!
I wanted to be updating and building things on JB, but all my time went to this little bugger....

He wants to eat every 4 hours, and then I have to burp him, change his diaper, and then he sleeps for about 1 hour so I get a little break...

I still have 17 more hours until his mom comes....

I love kids, thats why I agreed to do this.  But this is some hard work!!!

I give all the women credit that sit home and take care of new borns.  Its hard work!!

Still going! Didn't get much sleep. This is a lot of work taking care of a baby. I give all women respect and props for taking care of newborns, because this every 3 hour stuff is killer! This really was more work thank I thought it was going to be. Good thing JoJo is a great baby. But he still needs a lot of attention.

Well his mom picked him up earlier than expected. It allowed me to sleep afterwards for a few hours..

Just looking back having this 4 month old for 24 hours, it was hard..

I guess I just thought the baby would sleep the whole time... WRONGGGGGGGG!! lol

It was definitely a learning experience..

Ahh how I love first time parents. ( I know you aren't a parent yet, Adam.) Of course, I was one once.

Adam, I am being induced on Tuesday with baby #4, so just let me know if you need any more practice.

Just imagine too, a woman breastfeeding her newborn up every 2 hours with sore, cracked nipples! It's great!

Breast feeding is easier than getting up and having to heat up the frozen breast milk from a bag. It was just time consuming. Its probably easy to just roll over pop a nipple out and give the baby what he/she wants. Then just lay him back to bed and fall asleep. I changed Jo JoJo's diaper 8 times in 24 hours. Amazing!! I don't even pee that much! lol

That is true, Adam. Yeah, I breastfed my kids for all the health reasons and the touchy-feely schmaltzy crap, but I mostly did it because I am really and truly lazy.

And just think, you only had him for A day. Imagine how moms feel, having to deal with that for 18 years EACH... XD

Yes I am so happy, I am free again!!! Thats why I said above, I give all women a lot of props, because I now know what they must go through.. Its tough work..

When my wife does decide to have a child, I am going to the office everyday.. I dont think I could work from home.
    Too many distractions!! lol

I have to respectfully disagree with the idea that breastfeeding is easier and "lazy". For night time feedings, you have to stay awake to make sure the baby stays awake and eats, then burp, then switch sides and stay awake for that side too, then burp again, and probably change a diaper. And you have to be coherent enough to remember which side you started on. Heaven forbid you eat something that gives the baby gas, because then you will be up all night. Oh - plus by the time you stay awake long enough (usually 20minutes per side, plus time to burp and change diapers), you need a snack. And water. And possibly a potty break. Most of the time with my daughter, by the time I just got back to sleep she was waking up to eat again.

The nice thing about bottles is that you can switch off nights so that each parent can get a full nights sleep every other day. No such luck when breastfeeding!
